Let's go racing!

Let's go racing!

It's nearly here, one of Melbourne's most extravagant events...Spring Racing Carnival. How do you manage your wardrobe when events can range from a small luncheon to a full day at the races. I've trawled the trends and want to share a few tips that have helped me get through the season.

Keep it simple!

This might the first time you will be wearing a hat (other than a sunhat!) since last year, so don't make your life hard! A  statement hat can make the simplest outfit work for the races. Not a hat fan? Why not try an over the top print dress and a single flower in your hair. Focus on one aspect of your outfit and make it shine, that way you can enjoy the day and not worry about managing all those accessories.

Be comfortable!

Even if you're not heading to a full day on the field comfort is important. How can you really enjoy the smallest event if you're not comfortable?? Avoid shoes that make you want to cry or clothes that don't move when you do. Who wants to be stuck leaning against the bar or have to say no to another hors d'oeuvre? Not me.

This season is all about volume and colour, so why not try a looser fit and a flat shoe?

Have fun!

This is the time of year that you can have little bit more fun with fashion. Try that big brimmed hat you've always loved, wear a bold colour head to toe or even embrace a wild print. Spring fashion is about fun and colour and there is something wonderful about trying something new.
